Paver Patios vs. Concrete Pads: Which is Better

Trying to decide to install concrete pad or paver patio, but not sure of the differences?

  • Concrete: It's a big, flat, gray rock, solid in nature. It's strong, but sometimes it cracks and gets ugly. Hard to repair, most of the time needs to be fully removed and reinstalled.

  • Pavers: These are like colorful bricks you can put together like a puzzle. They come in all sorts of shapes and colors, and they're like tiny stepping stones that fit together. And yes those pieces are made out of concrete and share same characteristics.

Why Paver Patios Win!

  • Pretty Colors: Pavers look much nicer than plain gray concrete. You can make cool patterns and designs!

  • Bendable: If the ground shifts a little, the pavers can move a bit without cracking. Concrete often cracks when the ground moves.

  • Easy to Fix: If one paver gets broken, you just replace it. Fixing cracked concrete is a big job.

  • Water Flows Through: Rainwater can easily drain through the spaces between the pavers. With concrete, water can sometimes pool and make puddles.

So, which one would you choose for your outdoor patio construction? Pavers are usually a better choice because they're prettier, stronger, and easier to take care of!
